About Windley

Windley Contracting Ltd. is a widely diverse development and general contracting company with its foundation dating back to 1949. Ed and Vi Windley started the family owned business with plumbing and heating and with steady growth, evolved into providing full mechanical contracting services in the residential and commercial sectors.

Alongside his father, Rick Windley continued to maintain the growing development of the company, and, in 1980, Windley Contracting Ltd. broadened its activities into land acquisition, subdivision, and constructional development. Continuing with the family’s tradition, Rick’s three sons became more involved within Windley Contracting Ltd. and are now active and integral members of the company. The name Windley rapidly became recognized as an exceptional developer in Nanaimo, providing affordable and custom built homes.

As the company acquired more diversely experienced professionals and associates, it was a seamless transition into commercial construction. From the early 1990’s to the present, Windley Contracting’s portfolio has expanded to include multi-million dollar contracts for institutional, commercial, and industrial clients. These projects have taken the Windley team to various communities throughout the province of British Columbia.

The most recent expansion of Windley Contracting Ltd. was the development of the civil construction division that has an increasing inventory of earthwork equipment and a growing team of widely experienced tradesmen. The civil division executes contracts for both private and public sector clients throughout various municipalities within British Columbia.
